Sandbeds is a gorgeous five-bedroom holiday home within the boundary of the Lake District National Park. Originally a private residence, has undergone a fabulous makeover to make for a perfect rural retreat for two families or multi-generational families to holiday together, complete with luxury furnishings, log-burning fires and plenty of charm!

Set in a picturesque rural location on the owner's 100-acre farm, this self-catering holiday home offers peace and tranquillity for a relaxing break after a busy day of sightseeing and activities that both the Lake District and Yorkshire National Parks has to offer. Guests have easy access to the Lakes and Mountains, and the Market Towns of Kendal and Sedbergh provide numerous amenities.

The area falls within the designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. With only 4 miles to the nearest junction of the M6 transport links for our guests living in the Northern towns and cities are very accessible. Manchester and Liverpool are just over an hour’s drive away and a 50-minute drive away from Scotch Corner on the A1 for the Northeast.

Sandbeds sits alongside another holiday property called “Coomb View holiday home - Sleeps 4", and the owners also live on the farm and are on hand for information or recommendations on the local area, should you require it.

Ground Floor
  • FAMILY ROOM / KITCHEN - This large open-plan room is a modern extension of the original farmhouse. It features a freestanding kitchen with a large central island and a traditional slate floor, and a relaxing sitting area in the sunroom, which overlooks the country garden and rockery area. The sunroom benefits from patio doors leading into the garden. The Kitchen features a range cooker, microwave and fridge. The large kitchen and table next to the central island will accommodate up to ten guests. Leading off from the kitchen is a laundry and boot room with a full-height freezer, a washing machine with an ample drying area, and fitted storage cupboards. From the laundry and the boot room, you can access the courtyard garden, which is stocked with herbs.
  • SNUG ROOM - The snug room is in the original farmhouse that features the original spice cupboard, as well as the original window seats. This room is heated by radiators and a wood burner which is perfect for cosy winter nights. TV.
  • BEDROOM FIVE - Leading off from the snug room and at the back of the farmhouse is a Superking size bedroom which can be adapted into a twin bedroom and overlooks the courtyard garden. This bedroom may suit guests with limited mobility and has been decorated and accessorised with calming neutral colours with a feature wall in souk damask wallpaper with coordinating bedside tables, a chest of drawers, and a modern silver clothes rack. Bedroom five also has access to the downstairs shower room, which is on the left on entering the main entrance of Sandbeds.
  • DOWNSTAIRS SHOWER ROOM - On entering Sandbeds, to the left, is a downstairs shower room.
First Floor
  • BEDROOM ONE - Bedroom one sits above the extension and is south facing; this bedroom can be used as a super-king size bedroom or twin bedroom. Bedroom One overlooks the rockery garden and features a wall of fully fitted wardrobes and has coordinated Laura Ashley bedroom furniture as well as a feature wall in cream and gold.
  • BATHROOM ONE – Jack & Jill bathroom situated next to bedroom one and features a walk-in shower and a freestanding roll top traditional bath, two sinks and a toilet; and is handy for guests in bedrooms one and two to use.
  • BEDROOM TWO - Bedroom two is a double room with a fitted wardrobe and has a lovely cosy feel and overlooks the front garden. This bedroom has been decorated in warm cream, gold, and a subtle hint of red.
  • BATHROOM TWO - Situated bedrooms bedroom three and four and has been fully fitted with Porcelanosa neutral tiles, a freestanding modern bath, freestanding shower, sink, above sink bathroom cabinet and a toilet.
  • BEDROOM THREE - Next to bathroom two is a king-size bedroom that overlooks the surrounding fields and our country garden in front of Sandbeds. Decorated in a modern style with a feature wall in geometric bronze and grey wallpaper. Bedroom three has a fully fitted wardrobe with an adjoining cupboard that is a linen cupboard style. Laura Ashley coordinated bedroom furniture also features in this bedroom.
  • BEDROOM FOUR - Bedroom Four is at the back of the original farmhouse and overlooks our fields. This room is a king-size bedroom with an Antique French black and gold bedstead. To coordinate with the French bedstead, this room has black bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a freestanding wardrobe from the Hastings Range from Marks and Spencer.
Outside
  • Sandbeds has a courtyard garden at the back of the farmhouse, which features herbs to compliment your cooking. To the side of the farmhouse is a raised rockery which can be seen from the kitchen, dining area and sunroom. To the front of the farmhouse, the owners have a herbaceous country garden together with a patio area and a large lawn area.
  • Bed linen, towels, toiletries and slippers are supplied. 
  • Parking for up to five cars.
  • A travel cot & a high chair are available on request.
  • Complimentary WiFi is available. 
  • Dogs are not permitted at Sandbeds.
  • Refundable £100 good housekeeping deposit required.
