Things to do this Autumn in the Lakes

Autumn is one of the best times to get out and enjoy the Lake District. The fells are covered in autumn colours, making walks even more rewarding. Popular spots like Grasmere, Ambleside, and Ullswater are especially beautiful at this time of year.

After a day out, there’s nothing better than warming up in a pub, next to a fire. Many villages have great local inns serving hearty food and local ales, perfect after a chilly walk.

If you enjoy events, autumn also brings farmers’ markets, food festivals, and even the start of Christmas fairs later in the season. Or, if you’d rather keep it simple, just grab a coffee and watch the world go by in one of the Lakes’ many independent cafés.

Whether it’s walking, exploring, or simply slowing down, autumn gives you the perfect excuse to enjoy the Lake District at a gentler pace. If you want to check out whats on, take a look at our blog here!
