Fell Foot Cottage

Glenridding
Sleeps 5
Bedrooms 3

Originally built as a miner’s cottage for workers at the nearby Greenside Lead Mine, Fell Foot Cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to create welcoming and characterful holiday accommodation in the heart of the Ullswater Valley. Set in an elevated position above Glenridding, the cottage enjoys far-reaching views across the surrounding fells and the valley below, offering a wonderfully peaceful setting.

Positioned on the gravel lane and footpath leading towards Helvellyn, the property is perfectly placed for keen walkers and outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you are planning challenging fell days or leisurely lakeside strolls, this cottage provides an ideal base from which to explore one of the Lake District’s most dramatic landscapes.

Inside, the stone-built terraced cottage is arranged over three floors and blends traditional charm with modern comforts. The living areas are warm and inviting, with a wood-burning stove providing a cosy focal point after a day outdoors, while the well-equipped kitchen is designed around shared meals and relaxed evenings together.

Outside, a sloping cottage garden offers a lovely spot to sit in the afternoon sunshine. Here, guests can unwind while listening to birdsong and the gentle bleating of sheep on the surrounding fells – a true sense of calm and connection to the landscape.

For days when cooking feels like too much effort, the popular Traveller’s Rest pub is just 5 minutes walk away, serving a good selection of ales and highly regarded food. Glenridding village itself offers further cafés, pubs, a hotel with a public bar and a well-stocked convenience store selling locally made sandwiches, pies and essentials.

Fell Foot Cottage is accepting arrivals from 1 November '26 onwards.
