Goldrill Cottage

Patterdale
Sleeps 9
Bedrooms 4
Dog Friendly
Goldrill Cottage is a fabulous four-bedroom house that accommodates up to 9 guests. It is situated within 5 acres of private, natural woodland and grassed gardens, flanked to one side by Goldrill Beck that forms a natural wetland teeming with birdlife and wildlife, including red deer, squirrels, badgers, otters and the badgers who visit at night to feed by the patio door!

This house is perfect for family holidays and walking holidays with friends. There is ample space inside and out, parking for three or four cars, and several walking trails, including Place Fell, the Helvellyn Range, and the low-level lakeshore walk to Howtown.

The ground floor, which spans two floors, consists of two double bedrooms with views of the river and fells, a modern kitchen perfect for cooking a meal for the family (unless you plan to walk to the local pubs), and a spacious open-plan living and dining area with panoramic windows. On the chiller nights, light the lovely open fire or slide open the large patio door on the warmer days to use the patio that overlooks the river. Also on the ground floor is the first of two bathrooms comprising a shower cubicle, toilet, and basin.

Upstairs are two more bedrooms, a spacious double with Velux roof windows and a triple bedroom with three single beds. The second bathroom comprises a bath and shower over, a toilet and a basin.

It's difficult to convey the location and scenery in words other than to say that they're absolutely breathtaking! You could, quite honestly, leave the TV switched off and watch everything that's going on outside, whether it's the otters swimming or birds singing. Spectacular!

Outside, the established garden and natural woodland are open for you to enjoy and explore, and you can also swim or paddle in the river if you wish, but it goes without saying that children and pets must be supervised at all times.
