The house is for your exclusive use.

This late Georgian home is filled with beautiful features, many of which are original to maintain the house's charm, and most windows look out to stunning views of Arnside Knott and Grange-over-Sands. Its unparalleled grandeur comes from its history; Witherslack Manor was bestowed upon Thomas Stanley, the 1st Earl of Derby, in 1487. Halecat House was built in the mid-19th century and has been carefully preserved by The Stanley family ever since, allowing you to experience its one-of-a-kind charm like never before!

As you enter the property from the gravel parking area through the grand entrance, you'll be in awe by the double-height ceiling, grand staircase and the great library of books underneath.

Leading off the hallway is the kitchen, which is a bright and airy room, thanks to the vast sash window. The kitchen comprises modern amenities such as a dishwasher, microwave, and fridge-freezer - You'll have no trouble cooking up a family meal. Alternatively, please speak to us about arranging outside caterers for a special event.

Adjacent to the kitchen is the enormous dining room with a banquet-style table set up with chairs. This room benefits from sweeping views of the garden, fells and the bay beyond - it's pretty breathtaking!

After a day out exploring all the area has to offer, relax in the sitting room in the evenings, complete with an open fire, comfy sofas, and a flatscreen Freeview TV & DVD combination. Guests can access the garden via the bay windows leading out onto the terrace area!

You have four bedrooms and three bathrooms. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine and ironing facilities. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath and a toilet.

Double bedroom with a double bed. The sizeable king-size bedroom has a sofa and dual-aspect windows with views of the garden. There is a further king bedroom with a sofa, dressing table, views of the garden, estuary bay and fells. Both king-size double bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom with a bath and WC. The twin bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a cast iron bath, WC and full-length Georgian window offering views of the garden.

The outdoor space is extraordinary indeed - imagine a warm summer's day, you're sat out on the terrace admiring the views, the BBQ is alight, and the kids are playing on the lawn; a game of cricket perhaps - a perfect family holiday. Halecat House has gorgeous flowerbeds, a damson orchard, and a listed gazebo/summerhouse.

About the location

Witherslack is a beautiful village in South East Cumbria, easily accessible from the M6 Motorway.

On the grounds of the Witherslack Estate are artisan's workshops with lots of creative delights and a garden centre. Alternatively, within walking distance of Halecat House is the Derby Arms pub, serving a great selection of drinks and excellent food. The local community shop is well stocked with local produce and essential items; however, if you fancy exploring the wider, nearby to Withserslack is the picturesque Victorian resort of Grange Over Sands (6 miles), offering stunning views of Morecambe Bay and plenty of activities for visitors. Take a stroll along the Promenade or beyond, explore the town's local attractions, browse the independent food shops and boutiques, or wander through one of the many gardens that grace this area.

Also nearby is the quaint village of Cartmel (7 Miles), home to Cartmel Racecourse and, let's not forget, Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding. Cartmel is also well known for L'Enclume Restaurant, Simon Rogan's three-Michelin-starred eatery!

Suppose you fancy a boat trip, head to Lakeside at Newby Bridge (9 miles), where you can hop onboard one of the Windermere Lake Cruises and sail north to Bowness, Brockhole, and Ambleside. The circular service allows you to hop on and off at each location to explore. There's a large car park so you can leave the car for the day.

The bustling streets of Kendal are full of quaint shops to explore during your stay, as well as museums and the popular cinema at the Brewery Arts Centre. On the last Friday of the month, Kendal hosts the Farmers Market, where you will find local food products from the local area.

All these towns provide great opportunities to take in local culture while exploring everything Cumbria offers!
