Formally a banked barn dating back to the early 17th century, this spacious Troutbeck self-catering cottage can accommodate up to 8 guests, which makes it perfect for families or groups of friends to get together plus the location makes it ideal for exploring the Lake District National Park.

There are plenty of fantastic walks right from the doorstep including Wansfell Pike with fabulous views over Windermere towards Coniston and the Langdales, some of which are bridleways, so bring the mountain bikes!

For lovers of real ales and good food, The Mortal Man Inn is located across the road and a mere five-minute walk away is The Queens Head gastro-pub - both are family-friendly and both allow dogs!

The room features plenty of character, including a central exposed beam and a log-burning stove.

  • Dining Room with a large dining table seating eight people. Double-glazed window with views across the valley.
  • Kitchen with lots of storage and workspaces as well as an electric hob and oven, stainless steel sink and drainer, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.
  • The games room, accessed via the kitchen, with a foosball table, sound system and wall-mounted flat-screen smart TV, is ideal for watching movies or bringing the games system to plug in.
  • Bathroom with shower-over-bath combination, toilet and pedestal washbasin.
First Floor
  • Bedroom One - Large double bedroom with high ceilings, double glazed windows to two sides enjoying views across the valley to Garburn Pass and down the Troutbeck Valley.
  • Bedroom Two - Zip & link double bed (can be a super-king or a twin) with a double-glazed window enjoying views across the valley. Feature high ceilings and washbasin.
  • Bedroom Three - Double bedroom with high ceilings and double glazed window, enjoying views over the garden and across the valley, plus a washbasin.
  • Bedroom Four - Two single beds with double glazed windows to the rear, enjoying views directly up the fells.
  • Family bathroom - Spacious family suite comprising of shower cubicle with thermostatic shower, pedestal washbasin and toilet. The room has a double-glazed window, inset spot ceiling lighting and is finished with part tiling to walls.
  • Separate WC Located adjacent to the bathroom is a separate toilet facility comprising of a toilet, hand wash basin, wall light and double-glazed window.
Outside
  • The driveway offers parking for up to three cars, plus an EV Charger (7kw Tethered, Type-2 Charger).
  • The established gardens are laid to different levels with various lawns, shrubs and bushes with patio areas.
  • Bed linen, towels, and a starter wood supply for the log burner (more logs can be bought from the local petrol station in Troutbeck).
  • Super-fast broadband is available throughout the property, with a good 4g Mobile signal.
  • Both Smart TVs offer a range of digital streaming apps, including iPlayer, Netflix, Apple TV and more. Please note you will require your own subscription account for certain apps.
  • Supermarket deliveries are available from all the key supermarket chains.
  • A local convenience store and a post office are situated along the lane.
  • One well-behaved dog is welcome to stay - A charge of £15.00 per dog per stay applies. Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms or on the furniture.  
  • A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Please note cot bedding is not provided.

  • £100 Good-housekeeping deposit is required.
