The Eden Valley Penrith is a vibrant town that sits within the stunning Eden Valley, flanked by the Pennines on the East and the Lake District National Park on the west. The Valley is a popular destination for visitors looking to book holiday cottages.

Known locally as “the red town” because many of the buildings in Penrith are built using red sandstone. Visitors to the area will enjoy the wide variety of restaurants, shops, pubs and cafes on offer. Penrith benefits from excellent transport links including the M6 Motorway and Penrith Train Station. on the West Coast mainline between London Euston and Glasgow Central stations.

The Eden Valley follows the mighty River Eden, and comprises of pretty sandstone villages, many of which date back to viking times, which makes a perfect setting if you are searching for holiday cottages near Penrith, some of which benefit from hot tubs. The Eden Valley is often compared to that of a picturesque french valley, and we can’t argue with that! Along the river are many popular walks and at certain times of the year, the river is one of the finest locations for salmon and trout fishing – why not try your hand a fishing on the River Eden.

The Eden Valley has featured on TV in 2021 in Joanna Lumley’s Home Sweet Home – Travels in my Own Land – when Joanna travelled on the world-renowned Settle to Carlisle Railway line. Also, the Channel 5 series Coast to Coast with Tony Robinson and on the ITV series ‘Best Walks with a View with Julia Bradbury’
